Design principle 'Book Pattern'
S.L.U.B. Dresden
New construction and simultaneous merger of two separate libraries on the TU campus in Dresden based on the competition design by the architects Ortner & Ortner – with particular focus on the ease of use of the library and the central reading room.

The library is located in the 3-story underground connector between the two 5-story buildings. Large skylights and light wells guide daylight downwards, creating a warm and friendly atmosphere in the public areas. The design principle of the entire library varies wood paneling, stone floors, carpets, steel railings, glass surfaces, and structured ceilings in the theme of "book patterns." This design principle is visibly manifested all the way to the exterior facades.
